Jet polishing is a type of polishing and honing process that uses elastic abrasives. The elastic abrasives are accelerated through compressed air and collide on the surface of the workpiece to produce a micro polishing effect.
Elastic abrasives media are made of a highly elastic polymer material into a granular matrix. A layer of diamond powder is coated on the surface of the elastic matrix. Diamond powder particle size is generally 0.5um-5um.
The application of jet polishing is used for honing and polishing the cutting edge of tungsten carbide endmills, inserts, hob cutters, drill bits, thread cutters, forming cutters, saw blades, and molds. Alternatively, it is also used for superfine edge polishing of PCD tools.
